Two sites from one
A download page became bwallet.space, then bwalletx.com became the main site, with the store site generated from it. And this blog.
From a download page to two sites
The first site, on 29 September, was a download page for the Yours-branded port, with an Android APK and a TestFlight link. On 1 October it became the bWallet site at bwallet.space, with section videos, a beta APK and a waitlist.
On 3 October we forked it to make bwalletx.com. Over the next two days bwalletx.com became the main site, with pages for features, Exchange, Social, Agents, Strategies, CLI, MCP, Android, iPhone, Extension, Developers and PNEEs, each with its own share image.
Keeping the store site clean
bwallet.space is the site for the store app, and it must not advertise features the store app doesn't have. Since 4 October a script copies the shared assets from bwalletx.com and generates the bwallet.space home page from ours, with trading, token rooms and social sign-in taken out and clear links to bwalletx.com. Pages that exist only on bWalletX redirect there. The script never copies HTML pages, so this blog is not copied to the store site.
Navigation
The navbar was rewritten by hand on every page until 5 October, when one script, nav.js, started rendering it from a single config for both sites. Each section can have its own sub-menu. That is where this blog lives: under Developers.
Small things that went wrong
- The waitlist form 404'd on bwalletx.com until we proxied it to bwallet.space.
- X kept old share images, so several images have version numbers in their file names to break the cache.
- The big b logo was hidden under the fixed header on sub-pages until we added spacing.
- We dropped a Brave Shields tip from the extension page because we hadn't verified it.
About this blog
These posts were written from the git history of the wallet, this site, the chat server and the PNEEs prototype. They are as accurate as the commits allow. If something here is wrong, the code is the record, and we will correct the post.
What's not done
- The two sites still share one API host; bwalletx.com proxies some requests to bwallet.space.
- The APK download folder keeps every version; there is no cleanup yet.
