Launch something with your coin

A coin should launch with something: token links for website, app, X, Telegram and bChat; the room as the default right; “Issuer says” for the rest; no company field; advanced launch options as plans.

Status: partly built. Buying and selling Launchpad coins is live (since 5.1.74). The Launch your own coin button and token links are built on a development branch, not yet released. The advanced options at the end are plans.

A coin with nothing behind it

The Launchpad in bWalletX lists bonding-curve coins made on TokenBlaster. Anyone can launch one in a minute: a ticker, a name, a picture. That is the appeal and the problem. A coin with nothing behind it is a number that goes up and down. People buy it, the price moves, and the conversation is entirely about the price.

We want something different from the Launchpad. A coin should come with something people can use: a website, an app or a product, and somewhere to talk. The owner’s brief was short: “Launch your own coin” is the point, and the coin should launch with something.

The launch button

The next release puts a full-width gold button at the top of the Launchpad: Launch your own coin. It opens TokenBlaster’s launch page inside the wallet’s browser, with your wallet already connected. On the web wallet and the extension it opens a new tab. The store edition, bWallet, has no Launchpad, so it has no button either.

Token links

Token pages in bWalletX (on the Exchange, on the Launchpad and in your Wallet) get room for a coin’s links, shown as chips: website, app, X, Telegram and bChat. Each chip shows the domain it goes to.

Links are a way in for scammers, so they are strict. A link must be https with a real hostname, an X link must be on X and a Telegram link on Telegram. Tapping a chip shows a warning first: this is an outside site, not checked by us, and you should never enter your recovery phrase there.

There is one honest catch. Today, no source publishes these links. Token deploy records don’t have the fields, TokenBlaster’s launch form doesn’t ask for them, and neither does the 1Sat index. The wallet reads them as soon as any of those sources does, and shows nothing until then. Adding them to TokenBlaster’s form, signed by the creator, is the next step. Longer term we have proposed a small on-chain “token profile” that only the issuer can sign, so any wallet or market can read it.

Should links be required? We decided not, at first. A coin can launch without them, and the plan is that coins with them rank higher on the board.

The room is the default right

Here is the decision underneath all of this. When someone buys a coin, what do they get? In bWalletX the answer is one thing, by default: entry to the coin’s room. Every token page says “Holders can enter the $X room”, and the room is the one place every coin has, whatever else it does or doesn’t do.

Anything else is the issuer’s business. If an issuer wants to say their coin gets you a discount, early access or a vote, the wallet shows it as a single line, “Issuer says: …”, with the note “not checked by bWalletX”. It is capped at 160 characters and stripped of anything that could disguise it. We don’t verify it, endorse it or rewrite it as our own claim. That keeps us honest about what we know, and keeps the issuer responsible for what they promise.

No company field

The most-requested field we left out is “company”: let an issuer say this coin is their business. We said no. A token that stands for a company is a share, and shares are regulated. bChat tried rules for this before, and they got more complicated every week. So token pages never read or show company, equity or share fields, even if a token carries them.

The same goes for wording. When you create a token in bWalletX, the wallet won’t sign a description that promises returns, profits or dividends. If you want to reward your holders, send them an airdrop: see 027 Airdrops, not dividends.

Company tokens may come one day, but as a separate product with identity checks, never as a field on ordinary coins.

Advanced options: plans

Today every TokenBlaster coin launches on the same curve with the same settings. We have written up a set of advanced options for the launch form. None of this is built. It would be built in TokenBlaster, behind a collapsed Advanced panel, with the one-tap standard launch staying first.

We describe all of these as a supply schedule or a fee setting, never as rewards. A buyback isn’t a promise about the price, and a tranche isn’t a promise of anything.

Where to start
