Push notifications
Never miss a message. Real push notifications for messages, mentions, payments and calls are being built now and rolling out soon, on your phone, the web wallet and the Chrome extension.
How it works today
While the app is open, it checks for new messages, replies, mentions and payments every 90 seconds and shows a notification on your phone. When the app is closed, nothing arrives yet. On the web wallet and the Chrome extension you see the bell inside the app only.
What's coming
iPhone
Apple Push Notifications, so alerts arrive with the app closed.
Android
Firebase Cloud Messaging, so alerts arrive with the app closed.
Web wallet and Chrome extension
Web Push, so your browser can tell you even when the tab isn't open.
What will notify you
- Direct messages from friends, always.
- Group chats: each group has a bell with All, Mentions or Off. Groups start on Mentions, so busy rooms don't buzz you all day.
- Mentions of your
$name. - Payments received: BSV and tokens.
- $b answers to your
/bquestions. - Calls.
Privacy
By default a notification says who messaged you, not what they wrote, so nothing private shows on your lock screen. If you want message previews, turn them on in Settings. No message text is stored on our push server.
You can turn notifications off per group, per category, or entirely in Settings › Notifications. Your keys never leave your device; notifications don't need them.
bWalletX and bWallet
Notifications work the same in both editions: bWalletX here, and bWallet, the App Store and Google Play version.
Push notifications are in development and not live yet; this page will be updated as they roll out. Questions: support@bwalletx.com
