Token locking. Lock tokens so nobody can dump early.
Lock BSV is live: BSV locked until a block height, and nobody can move it before then, not even you. Token locking does the same for tokens.
Coming Token locking is not built yet. It needs a lock script that carries a token (the same idea as the OrdLock outputs used for listings) and a test on mainnet with a tiny amount, to check that the token indexers still show the locked tokens and accept them when the lock opens. We’ll build it once that test passes.
Creator vesting at launch: prove you won’t dump
When you launch a coin, you can keep a share for yourself, locked so you can’t sell it straight away. The plan:
- ComingCreator allocation: 0 to 20% of the supply, set by the creator. The default is 10%.
- ComingAlways time-locked. The default is a 12-month cliff (nothing unlocks for a year), then linear unlocking over 24 months. The shortest lock allowed is 6 months.
- ComingA public receipt. The coin’s page shows how much the creator locked and until when, linked to the locks on chain, so anyone can check them.
Personal token locks
Coming A “Lock tokens” option next to Lock BSV, with the same date picker, the same irreversible confirmation and the same optional receipt.
Locked airdrops
Coming Airdrops that unlock over time: each recipient gets their own lock that they can claim once it opens. See Airdrops.
What it isn’t
A lock only stops tokens moving before a date. It says nothing about what a token is worth, now or later.
