Spaces you can just listen to
Spaces are live audio rooms: a few people talk, everyone else listens. They now have their own page at www.bchatx.com/spaces, and you can listen to a public one without signing in.
The Spaces page
The page has three parts.
- Live now. Each Space shows the host, how many speakers and listeners, and a Listen button.
- Recent. Spaces that have ended. Each one keeps a page, so a link shared yesterday still goes somewhere.
- Start a Space. Open your own.
Listen without signing in
For a public Space, you tap Listen and you are in. No account, no wallet. You can only listen.
When you want to do more, such as raise your hand to speak, react or tip a speaker, bChatX asks you to sign in. Tipping uses your bWalletX, as with everything that involves money.
Some Spaces are for holders of a token. Those still need sign-in, because the server has to check you hold it. Private rooms are never listed on the page at all.
The stage
A Space can have up to 12 speakers on stage at once. Everyone else is a listener until the host brings them up.
Strict networks
Audio goes directly between devices where it can. Some networks block that: offices, hotels, some mobile carriers. We have added a TURN relay, which carries the audio through our server when a direct path fails. People on those networks can now join.
Coming: Game Spaces
Game Spaces are coming: watch TokenBlaster matches live, with the players talking. More when it is ready.
