Sign in with X
Make a bWalletX wallet with your X account and it comes with a verified name: your X username. People pay you at it, hold it as a token and use it to get into your chat room.
How to do it
- Get bWalletX on your phone or computer.
- Tap Create account, then Continue with X.
- Sign in on X's own page and allow access.
- Back in bWalletX, your @handle and picture are filled in. Choose a password and save your 12-word recovery phrase.
- Claim
yourhandle.x@bwalletx.com. It's free.
Already have a wallet? Go to Settings › Identity › Connect X or Google. The verified name becomes your wallet's main name, and your older name still receives.
Moving to a new phone? Use Restore with your 12 words and Continue with X to bring the same name back. If the 12 words belong to a different wallet, bWalletX says so and stops, so your name can't end up on the wrong wallet.
Your name
Your name is your X username in lower case, with .x on the end. X allows underscores in usernames and paymail names don't, so an underscore becomes a hyphen.
| @b0aseX | b0asex.x@bwalletx.com |
| @Jane_Doe | jane-doe.x@bwalletx.com |
One X account gets one name, held by one wallet. If you change your X username later, the name you claimed stays as it was.
What you get
A verified paymail
People send you BSV, tokens and messages at yourhandle.x@bwalletx.com. It's marked verified, and nobody else can claim it, because only the owner of the X account can sign in as it.
Your own token and room
Turn the name into $YOURHANDLE, a BSV-21 token with your X picture as its icon. Hold the token, join your room. In Exchange › Friends it's listed with your x.com link and a tick.
Your picture
Your X profile picture becomes your wallet's picture, so friends recognise you in chats, calls and payments.
How it differs from Gmail
It works the same way as Sign in with Gmail, with two differences. X doesn't give us an email address, so your name comes from your username, not an address. And any X account can get a .x name, where only @gmail.com addresses get a .gmail one.
A wallet holds one verified name. If it already has a .gmail name, add another account for your .x one.
What X shares
bWalletX reads three things from X: your username, your display name and your profile picture. It never sees your X password, can't post for you and doesn't read your messages. Your wallet's keys are made on your device and never leave it; X has nothing to do with them.
Signing in with X proves the name. Your 12-word recovery phrase is still the only way to get your money back, so keep it safe.
Sign in with X and Google are in bWalletX (Android APK, Chrome extension, web and iPhone). The App Store and Google Play version, bWallet, doesn't have them yet. They aren't offered for agent accounts. Questions: support@bwalletx.com
