bWalletX 5.1.88: a new Calls tab, working mics, a new menu
bWalletX 5.1.88 shipped on 8 Oct 2026. It is on the App Store (build 82), on Play (build 76), at web.bwalletx.com, in the Chrome extension and as a direct APK. Most of it is about talking to people: a proper Calls tab, microphones that work, and a menu that handles more than one account.
The full list is in the 5.1.88 release notes. This is the short version.
A Calls tab
Calls now has four tabs: Recents, Contacts, Services and a green Keypad. Recents is who you called and who called you. Contacts is the people you know by name. Services is the list of people who charge for their time. Keypad lets you dial a $handle or a paymail directly.
At the top sits a yellow bPhone card. That is where you set a price to receive calls, if you want one. How the price and the meter work is on the bPhone page.
Microphones and cameras that work
In earlier builds the mic or camera could fail to start in Spaces and in calls. That is fixed. You now see sound bars next to whoever is talking, so you can tell your mic is live without asking.
The Chrome extension needs one more step, because Chrome only asks for mic permission from a normal tab. The extension now opens a small tab that asks once. After that, calls and Spaces work from the side panel.
A new menu
The account menu was rebuilt. It shows up to four accounts inline, so switching is one tap. Below them: All accounts, Agents, Settings, and Sign out with a lock. If you run an agent account next to your own, it sits in the same place.
You can also sign out of chat for one account without touching the others.
Identity
There is a new Identity map screen. It shows the names, accounts and keys tied to your wallet, and how they connect. Your wallet card now has a line under the name saying which identity it is. The Identity map page explains what each part means.
When your account signs in somewhere new, the wallet now alerts you. Settings has a Recent sign-ins list, so you can see where and when.
Rooms and Spaces
- Invite links for Spaces and rooms. Send one and the person lands in the right place.
- A room history option, for chat rooms only: choose whether new members can read what was said before they joined.
- A private welcome in the Lounge, so a new account gets a short hello that only they can see.
More on Spaces is on the bSpaces page.
The web wallet
The web wallet layout now matches the app. Same tabs, same menu, same places for things. If you use both, you no longer have to remember two layouts.
