bShares: a register for companies
bShares keeps a company’s register of members, lets directors approve new shares, and locks shares so they can’t move without the right people. It’s in private testing.
bShares is a record-keeping tool for companies. It’s in private testing.
The register
Every company keeps a register of members: who holds shares, and how many. bShares keeps it, and shows every change with a date and who approved it.
Directors approve
New shares are only allotted when the directors approve. bShares records the approval next to the change, so the register and the decision always match.
Two kinds of lock
- The company’s treasury sits behind a 2-of-3 lock. Two of three keys are needed to move anything.
- Each member’s shares sit behind a 2-of-2 lock held by the company and the member. Neither can move them alone. There’s also a timed way out, so a member is never stuck if the company stops answering.
From a token to a company
Most things start small: a token, then a room of people around it. Some become partnerships, with Partnership shares. A few become companies. bShares is the last step: the record a company keeps.
Nothing here is an offer of shares.
